Who We Are

The RoadRunners Track & Field Team (RR) emerged mid 2024, filling in the gap for the need of a Local Competitive Track & Field Team.

  1. Composition and Experience: The team comprises 80%+ local, experienced athletes who have been competing Provincially for 1-3 years. We have a strong core of dedicated and skilled members who have a track record (pun intended) in competitions.
  2. Age Range: RR Athletes ages range from 5 to 14 years old, showcasing a commitment to nurturing talent from a young age. New members must be at least 7 years old to join, ensuring a baseline level of readiness and maturity, for this elite team.
  3. Coaching Structure: RR practice a minimum of 2 times per week. Coaching is delivered by a diverse team of seasoned professionals, each offering unique skills, experiences, and perspectives from Track and Field or related sports disciplines. This dual-coaching method ensures athletes benefit from a range of viewpoints and specialized knowledge.
  4. High Standards: RR maintains a high standard where athletes are encouraged to understand that their effort correlates directly with their results. This commitment is reflected in the number of athletes achieving Personal Bests (PBs) at competitions or earning medals/ribbons.
  5. Directors: The directors of RR are parents of former Milton Spikes athletes who volunteer their time. This parental involvement underscores a community-driven approach to sustaining and fostering a love for track and field among young athletes in the Milton/Halton Region.

The RoadRunners are a  well-organized team with a clear focus on development, achievement, and community involvement, making it a promising environment for aspiring track and field athletes in the community.

We welcome any new and aspiring athletes potentially wishing to join our team to reach out, and we can discuss next steps and try-outs.
